What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Laser Marking position at EXALTA Group (formerly Tyber, Intech, Resolve)?
The Laser Marking Lead Programmer is tasked with operating equipment, providing leadership to the department, assisting in programming and setup of machines, establishing and achieving department production goals, and schedule adherence. The Laser Marking Lead Programmer will work closely with their team members to coach and counsel employees in achieving daily production targets, assist in expanding their team's knowledge in programming and set up of equipment, improving setup and run time through fixture and program optimization, and creating a positive work culture.
Job Duties and Tasks
- Provide supervision, support, leadership, and guidance to employees in the department.
- Determine training needs and perform training for personnel on all shifts in the department.
- Program Laser Marking Machines
- Work with other departments to proactively address issues.
- Work with the Tooling Department to create new fixtures as well as continuous improvement activities for existing fixtures.
- Assist in reviewing and investigating nonconformances as needed and suggest corrective actions.
- Report personnel issues to management.
- Establish overtime and weekend coverage needs.
- Act as resource and point of contact for department employees.
- Develop strong working relationships with all shifts and levels of the organization.
- Utilize equipment, personnel, and resources to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency of the department.
- Select appropriate tools, machines and materials to be used in preparation of machining work.
- Assists with corrective and preventative actions are required.
- Communicate with manufacturing, engineering, and production personnel from all departments to exchange pertinent information and problem solve issues.
- Meet and maintain established efficiency and effectiveness standards established for the quality function.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and jobs are properly clocked in and out in ERP system.
- All other duties as assigned.
Key Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience in a machine shop environment.
- Experience in ISO/FDA environment preferred, knowledge and understanding of GD&T
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment including micrometer & caliper, height stands, thread gages, dial indicators, gage pins, radius gages, optical comparator and vision machines.
- 3-5 years of experience in running laser engraving equipment.
- Knowledge of the company quality system.
- Proficient in the use of a computer in a Windows environment, and proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficient in math, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Excellent manual dexterity, hand/eye coordination.
- Ability to be highly accurate with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve quality and other issues.
- Ability to read and comprehend work instructions.
- Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, handle stressful situations, multitask and ability to prioritize work.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as autonomously.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively, professionally and constructively in Spanish and English.
Education, Certifications, and/or Licenses Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Work Environment:
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that can be distracting or uncomfortable.
- Includes exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Work environment is temperature controlled.
