Job Summary:
The Machine Operator plays an essential role in the daily operation of fabrication equipment, contributing directly to product quality, production efficiency, and accurate inventory tracking. Your primary responsibility will be operating CNC machines to fabricate exterior building cladding components.
No prior machine operator experience? We’ll train the right person. We are seeking candidates that are dependable, energetic, and bring an eagerness to learn in a team environment.
Location and Hours:
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
Location: Palatine, IL
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines to perform routing, drilling and milling tasks according to job specifications and production schedules.
- Ensure consistent output of high-quality product with minimal rework or waste.
- Load and input machine programs, adjust machine settings, and calibrate tools to ensure precise machining of materials.
- Inspect finished products using appropriate measuring tools and gauges to verify adherence to quality standards and specifications.
- Execute tooling changes as required per job specifications or based on tool wear.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment and reduce the risk of accidents.
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine settings, and maintenance activities.
- Work closely with other team members to optimize manufacturing processes and improve product quality.
- Assist with other tasks or projects as defined by the Operations Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
- Basic educational degree, high school diploma, or GED
- No prior experience required
- Basic computer skills (knowledge of common software programs such as MS office)
- Ability to read and understand work orders, production process, safety regulations and quality procedures and instructions
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity
Preferred Qualifications:
- Solid math skills and mechanical aptitude
- 6 months of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- English proficiency. Bilingual in English and Spanish is beneficial
- Experience working with a CNC router table or sheet cutting equipment is beneficial
