Overview
Exact Electric is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll/HR Coordinator to support day-to-day human resources operations for our growing electrical contracting business. This role supports a mixed field and office workforce and is ideal for someone with strong HR fundamentals who enjoys hands-on, process-driven work in a construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit bi-weekly payroll data to CPA for processing
- Support prevailing wage and L&I compliance, including certified payroll submissions
- Administer timekeeping and workforce scheduling through eSub
- Review daily timecards for accuracy, job coding, and approved overtime
- Track PTO, sick time, holidays, and attendance
- Maintain employee records, licenses, certifications, and compliance documentation
- Support recruitment and employee orientation for field and office roles
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, including paperwork, benefits enrollment, system access, and payroll coordination
- Administer benefits through Employee Navigator
- Assist with safety documentation, incident reporting (L&I/OSHA), and training tracking
- Provide general HR support to employees and managers
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or GED required
- 2 years of Payroll experience (construction or trades preferred)
- 2 years of HR experience
- Experience with timekeeping
- Proficiency with Excel and spreadsheet-based tracking
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Ability to work onsite in Seattle
Preferred (Not Required)
- SHRM-CP or PHR
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
- OSHA 30 (Construction)
- Washington State Prevailing Wage / L&I training
