Assist customers with questions about merchandise, enter purchases and accept payments in the Religious Catalogue Retail Gift Shop.
What You Will Do
- Interact with pilgrims, visitors, guests, and the public in general in a courteous and pleasant manner.
- Answer customer’s questions and respond promptly to customer needs in a friendly and positive manner.
- Stock and arrange merchandise on shelves, counters, or tables to promote sales, and label items with prices by stamping, marking, or tagging
- Accept and process payment for merchandise in form or cash, check or credit cards.
- Assist in the creation and distribution of internal eBlasts for communication and promotions.
- Generate and maintain reports on new items and sale items to support inventory and marketing efforts.
- At the end of the day, record sales from the register, balance the drawer, and prepare a deposit.
- Keep records of sales, prepare inventory of stock, and order merchandise.
- Answer Gift Shop phone calls.
- 1–3 years of retail experience, relevant training, or a comparable mix of education and experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills; professional, friendly, tactful, well-organized, and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Catholic faith and EWTN’s mission.
- Available to work 16–28 hours per week, with flexibility to occasionally support pilgrimage groups and special events on off-days or outside regular hours.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds and standing for extended periods.
