This position involves asbestos removal and remediation in a marine/shipyard environment. Candidates must be safety-conscious, dependable, and comfortable working in the demanding conditions associated with shipboard work.### Responsibilities* Perform asbestos removal and abatement according to established safety procedures* Properly contain, remove, handle, and dispose of asbestos-containing materials* Set up and maintain regulated work areas and containment systems* Properly use respirators and required personal protective equipment* Follow all OSHA, environmental, shipyard, and site-specific safety requirements* Work safely in confined or restricted areas aboard the ship* Maintain a clean and safe work area* Follow supervisor and project safety instructions at all times### Requirements* Previous **asbestos abatement experience*** Current asbestos certification/license as required for the work performed* Ability to properly wear and work in a respirator and full PPE* Ability to work in confined spaces and shipboard environments* Must be physically capable of performing demanding manual labor* Reliable transportation* Dependable attendance and strong commitment to workplace safety* Must be able to meet all site-access and project requirements**Shipyard, marine, or industrial experience is strongly preferred.** Pay**$30.00 per hourThis is an excellent opportunity for experienced asbestos abatement professionals interested in working on a ship project in Mobile, AL.**Apply today with Elevate Workforce.
