Available Position: Entry-Level Construction Project Accountant

Position Location: Plainview, NY

Position Overview: EW Howell is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Construction Project Accountant to join our team in our Plainview office. This position is ideal for an individual interested in accounting and construction project administration who is looking to develop a long-term career in project accounting. This role is not intended for candidates pursuing Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification. Responsibilities include:

• Assist Senior Project Accountants with monthly requisition and billing deliverables
• Support subcontractor payment processing and lien waiver tracking
• Enter and maintain project-related financial data within accounting and construction management systems
• Review project documentation for completeness and accuracy
• Reconcile project records and maintain organized electronic files
• Communicate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients regarding project accounting matters
• Support month-end closing activities and reporting requirements
• Perform other project accounting and administrative duties as assigned
  
  

Qualification Requirements:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Interest in the construction industry and project accounting
