Role Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and passionate production manager who will be responsible for the production of coffee pods on a small-scale production line. They will manage a small team of production worker and will work with an engineer to ensure the production equipment is maintained and functioning efficiently.
They will oversee shipping and receiving of daily parcel shipments and inventory management of product and raw materials.
The candidate needs to be mechanically inclined and able to work with tools and equipment. They must be capable of working with computers and have the ability to develop and maintain process documents to guide workflow within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a small team of production workers. Responsible for the overall direction and scheduling of these workers.
- Ensure the production environment meets MDARD and food safety standards.
- Direct the conversion of raw materials to finished products with minimum waste and labor cost.
- Maintain inventory documentation and lot tracking
- Monitor proper inventory rotation of raw materials and packaging.
- Responsible for scheduling, maintaining and approving production employees’ work hours on a daily basis. Work with employees to investigate any scheduling and/or payroll-related issues.
- Maintain supplies required for production area including gloves, hairnets, and cleaning supplies.
- Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Resolves employee complaints or submits unsettled complaints to the Employee & Community Relations Manager for action. Handle all disciplinary actions and employee disputes.
- Train, develop and evaluate all employees to meet future needs.
- Attend meetings; make presentations, etc. as needed.
- Comply with all safety, health and environmental regulations as prescribed by law.
- Comply with all Company rules, regulations and policies.
- Maintain the production area to keep it clean and organized.
- Ability to substitute for a production worker as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to use hands and fingers. Reaching with hands/arms throughout shift.
- Will work near moving mechanical parts.
- Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to lift/move up to 40 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- (3) College degree is preferred.
- (3) Three – (5) Five years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment with Food/Beverage manufacturing experience a plus.
- Must be able to work with computers and be proficient in MS Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.
