Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shear Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting incoming sheet metal skids, using a micrometer or caliper to verify material thickness, operating a forklift to move skids of sheet metal to your workstation, and using a shear to cut metal according to customer specifications. The Shear Operator will also help maintain accurate sheet metal inventory records and support overall shop organization. Shift

1st Shift (6:00am - 2:30pm) Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

• Operate shear machines and related equipment to cut sheet metal accurately.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine cutting requirements.
• Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, precision measuring instruments, and visual checks to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
• Safely operate forklifts to move sheet metal from unloading bay to work station.
• Help maintain accurate sheet metal inventory records and support overall shop organization.

Requirements

• Prior experience operating a forklift.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Prior experience using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality inspection.
• Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during setup and inspection processes.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
