Job Summary:

This role involves operating multi-axis CNC machines to shape ROHACELL® foam cores, following production schedules and maintaining detailed fabrication logs. The position requires handling, thermoforming, bonding, and shaping of materials while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, ITAR, and AS9100 standards. You’ll inspect parts using CMM and precision tools, interpret customer drawings, and collaborate with internal teams. Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office are essential, along with the ability to manage part serialization and navigate production systems. Maintaining a clean work environment and supporting consistent quality processes are also key responsibilities.

Responsibility:

• Operate 5-axis and 4-spindle CNC machines to shape ROHACELL® rigid cellular plastic foam cores according to production schedules.
• Thermoform, bond, shape, and handle ROHACELL® cores; maintain cleanliness in CNC and work areas.
• Record time and material usage in fabrication logs while complying with safety, environmental, ITAR, and AS9100 standards.
• Inspect shaped cores using coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and handheld tools (scales, calipers, micrometers) to meet aerospace and automotive specifications.
• Collaborate with internal teams including technical, quality, sales, and marketing; interpret customer drawings and specifications.
• Use precision tools to measure to thousandths of an inch; perform metric conversions and calculations using calculators.
• Maintain part numbering and serialization systems; navigate Microsoft Windows-based email, word processing, and spreadsheet programs.
• Ensure the shapes department follows established standards and procedures for consistent production quality.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required; A.S. degree or technical certification preferred.
• Strong computer skills required, including proficiency in Windows, MS Office, and MS Excel.
• Multi-axis CNC experience, coordinate measuring machine (CMM) familiarity, and forklift certification or experience are preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of SAP and experience managing customer demands, production planning, and scheduling are preferred.
• Background in aerospace composites manufacturing and bonding of composite materials is highly valued.
• Familiarity with AS9100 standards is preferred.
• Experience using woodworking tools to build custom packaging solutions such as boxes, crates, skids, bracing fixtures, cradles, collars, and chocks.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required to interface effectively with logistics, production, and external parties.
