Position Summary
We’re looking for an exceptional electrical engineer who is ready to take the next step into leadership as our Senior Electrical Engineer. This role is ideal for someone who has mastered hardware design, digital system debugging, and power electronics, and now wants to mentor engineers, shape a team, and move into broader management responsibilities—while still staying connected to the technical details.
You’ll lead and grow our hardware team building next-generation satellites, blending hands-on engineering with team leadership. You’ll guide engineers of all experience levels, help troubleshoot tough problems, and set the technical direction that ensures our spacecraft hardware is reliable, testable, and space-ready.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow the electrical engineering team across design, debug, and integration activities
- Provide technical guidance and hands-on support, including schematic reviews, board bring-up, and lab debugging
- Oversee the design, development, and validation of spacecraft avionics and power systems
- Troubleshoot and validate digital systems, logic-level circuits, power distribution, and DC/DC converters
- Debug and validate communication protocols, including I²C, SPI, UART, CAN, and Ethernet
- Establish engineering standards and oversee schematic reviews, design reviews, and testing processes
- Collaborate closely with software, systems, and mechanical engineering teams to deliver integrated, flight-ready hardware
- Drive team structure, processes, and scaling strategies while representing the electrical engineering function in leadership discussions and program reviews
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 8 years of hardware development experience, including exposure to project or team leadership
- Hands-on expertise debugging electronics, including digital systems and power electronics
- Proficiency with PCB design and layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer or similar)
- Strong knowledge of serial communication protocols such as I²C, SPI, UART, CAN, and Ethernet
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineers while fostering technical growth
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing and testing spacecraft or aerospace hardware
- Familiarity with environmental testing, including thermal, vibration, and EMI/EMC
- Knowledge of design-for-test methodologies, fault-tolerant design, or radiation-hardened electronics
