The Role

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Maintain accurate transaction coding, categorization, and financial records
- Support month-end close activities, reconciliations, and audit readiness
- Review expenses for accuracy, policy compliance, and proper approvals
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and data inconsistencies
- Ensure financial documentation is organized and maintained appropriately
Accounts Payable & Procurement Support
- Manage invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor reconciliations
- Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders regarding payment and procurement matters
- Track purchase orders, invoices, and payment workflows
- Maintain accurate records across accounting and procurement systems
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare recurring financial reports and management dashboards
- Support budget-to-actual reporting and cash flow visibility
- Assist with forecasting, financial modeling, and scenario planning
- Conduct ad hoc analysis to support business decisions
- Improve reporting processes and financial data quality
Budgeting & Controls
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and spend tracking activities
- Help establish reporting structures, approval workflows, and financial controls
- Monitor variances and identify emerging financial risks
- Contribute to scalable finance processes as the organization grows
- Partner with operational and technical teams to support business needs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline
- 3 years of experience in accounting, finance operations, FP&A, accounts payable, business operations, or a related finance function
- Experience working with accounting and finance systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Bill.com, Ramp, Brex, Coupa, Airbase, or similar platforms
- Strong spreadsheet and financial analysis skills
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, transaction coding, and month-end processes
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to improve processes and build structure
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to government contracting, cost accounting, or DCAA-compliant environments
- Experience in technology, engineering, aerospace, defense, manufacturing, R&D, or startup environments
- MBA, CPA, CMA, or progress toward professional certification
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
