What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineer position at EVONA?
Title: Electrical Engineer
Job type: Full-time employee
Location(s): Broomfield, Colorado
Overview
As our Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering the electrical and avionics systems that power, control, and monitor our rockets. You will take ownership of PCB and electrical system designs from blank sheet through manufacturing, testing, and vehicle integration. This role spans concept development, schematic capture, PCB layout, electrical architecture definition, system bring-up, and environmental validation. Working closely with mechanical, propulsion, GNC, and software teams, you will ensure that every electrical system is robust, manufacturable, lightweight, and flight ready. Your work will directly enable reliable engine control, telemetry, power distribution, and flight safety systems.
Description
Own Core Responsibilities:
- Own PCB designs from concept through production, including schematic capture, layout, and design reviews.
- Define electrical architectures including power distribution, grounding strategy, signal integrity, and EMC considerations.
- Support manufacturing and board bring-up while leading debugging and validation efforts for electrical subsystems.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure electrical systems integrate cleanly with the broader vehicle architecture.
Produce Clear Deliverables:
- Deliver complete electrical design packages including schematics, PCB layout files, fabrication drawings, bills of materials, and interface control documents.
- Produce test plans, validation procedures, and debugging reports for electrical subsystems across bench testing, environmental testing, and integrated vehicle testing.
- Maintain clear documentation of design decisions, testing outcomes, and system interfaces to support reliable manufacturing and vehicle integration.
Impacts and Outcomes
