We have begun expansion into large, complex optical components by pulling together the right team, the right technology, and the right methods to provide the best-value solutions to ground-based and space-based imaging, semiconductor industry, and high energy optics, such as laser fusion and directed energy.

Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machine tools including Blanchard-style grinders, manual single-sided lapping machines, and single-sided spindle polishers.
- Perform blocking techniques using blocking wax and/or pitch to secure parts during polishing or lapping processes.
- Inspect and measure components using precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, loupes, drop gauges, and other metrology equipment.
- Conduct visual inspection of polished surfaces to identify defects, scratches, digs, or other surface imperfections.
- Select appropriate materials, tools, and machine parameters according to job specifications and work instructions.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Work efficiently with minimal supervision, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot basic mechanical issues to ensure consistent and safe operation.
Requirements: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
· Ability to manage time efficiently and capable of meeting deadlines consistently.
· Good understanding of basic shop math (measurements, fractions and unit conversions)
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team to enhance production efficiency and troubleshoot operational issues.
· Skilled in reading and interpreting technical documents, manuals and instructions to ensure accurate execution of tasks and adherence to standards.
Desired Knowledge and Skills:
· Blueprint reading, understanding optical drawings with tolerances like flatness (λ/10), surface roughness, etc.
· Interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T).
· Experience with optical metrology instruments like Interferometers (e.g. Zygo) and profilometers.
· Optics and Photonics experience.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to work in high, precarious places, and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job could include close vision.
