Senior Accountant

Position Summary

This role is pivotal to the accrual and cash basis financial reporting and analysis efforts, ensuring accurate financial statements, while overseeing general ledger accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheet and income statements..
• Conduct month-end and year-end close processes.
• Reconcile and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis and report on variances to support decision-making processes.
• Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Assist in compliance with internal accounting controls and safeguard financial assets.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided.
• When needed, assist in coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Identify accounting process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance financial operations.
• Support physical inventories at multiple sites.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data.

Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Sage Intacct is a plus.
