Evolution Safety Resources, a leading Safety Consulting Firm based in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Director specializing in Steel Erection for a full-time, permanent position in the Manassas, VA area. This role involves ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OSH) guidelines across multiple data center sites in the DC/VA region. Responsibilities- Travel between local data center assignments, ensuring steel safety expectations are met across various sites.
- Act as a steel erection subject matter expert, addressing technical questions and resolving concerns from other trades and general contractors on multi-employer worksites.
- Inspect sites daily for existing and potential incident and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures, and follow up to ensure implementation.
- Maintain all reports, including daily inspections, Job Safety Analysis, and incident reports.
- Investigate all reported injuries and illnesses.
- Represent the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.
- OSHA 500 credentials (required)
- 10 years of construction experience with a strong emphasis on steel erection (required)
- Field safety experience - 5 years (preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
- Ability to manage an onsite team of site safety professionals
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
