We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Supermarket Refrigeration and HVAC Service Technician to join our team. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair refrigeration systems, including ammonia refrigeration units, display cases, walk-in coolers, freezers, and HVAC equipment across multiple supermarket locations.
- Perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems such as boilers, air conditioning units, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, and building automation systems to prevent system failures.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents to accurately troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters and perform equipment repairs involving welding or mechanical adjustments as needed.
- Maintain compliance with EPA regulations by handling refrigerants responsibly and completing necessary documentation for refrigerant recovery or disposal.
- Collaborate with property maintenance teams to ensure all mechanical systems operate efficiently and safely.
- Document all service activities thoroughly in work orders, logs, and reports to ensure accurate records for future reference.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in supermarket refrigeration, HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration), or related mechanical systems repair.
- Construction experience or background in building automation systems is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration principles including ammonia refrigeration systems and HVAC design concepts.
- Ability to read schematics, electrical diagrams, plumbing layouts, and mechanical drawings with ease.
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics, equipment repair techniques such as welding, and general maintenance procedures.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling is required; additional certifications such as HVAC or boiler licenses are a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in property maintenance or appliance repair enhances your fit for this role.
- Driver’s license with a clean record is necessary for field service assignments; familiarity with
driver standards is preferred. - Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
