Offering a unique blend of vintage elegance and oceanfront charm, weddings onboard the Queen Mary range from intimate ceremonies to large-scale celebrations, each requiring meticulous planning and exceptional service. As a Catering & Convention Services Manager specializing in Weddings and Celebrations, this role is responsible for collaborating with guests, onboard operating teams, and vendor to ensure each event reflects the couple’s vision while maintaining the Queen Mary’s high standards. This role requires a detailed oriented wedding industry professional who can manage event logistics with varied levels of complexity and communicate effectively and timely with clients, vendors, and internal partners.

Role

This role serves as the primary point of contact for all aspects of planning and execution to include, but not limited to:

  • Plan and develop all aspects of wedding celebrations including, ceremony, reception, rehearsal events, contracted room blocks, etc.
  • Conduct venue tours, planning sessions and menu tastings
  • Develop Banquet Event Orders, timelines, floor plans, and event logistic specifications to onboard/shipboard venues
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal teams i.e., Banquet Operations, Front Office, and external vendors
  • Manage budgets, contacts, deposit, and billing details
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and venue policies unique to a historic venue
  • Maintain high levels of guest service and satisfaction

2 years of experience in wedding planning and wedding coordination

Strong organizational skills

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Experience managing multiple events simultaneously

Knowledge of Delphi is a plus

Step into a pivotal role as a Catering & Convention Services Manager where you’ll drive catering and convention success, blending creativity, client service, and business acumen to deliver exceptional experiences. As the leader for assigned properties, you’ll manage food and beverage sales goals, service clients/groups, and ensure every event exceeds expectations. Your expertise will shine as you collaborate with the Director of Sales or Director of Catering/Convention Services, helping the hotel achieve revenue, satisfaction scores, and sales targets.

This position is an overtime eligible manager (OEM), overtime does apply and is calculated accordingly.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required; prior convention, event, or catering sales experience preferred.
  • Creative thinker with food, beverage, and event knowledge; strong verbal and written communication skills for negotiation and sales.
  • Valid driver’s license for the applicable state; proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Proven ability to work independently, multitask, organize, and present professionally.
