POSITION SUMMARY
The Executive Director of our Massachusetts Facility provides overall strategic and operational direction for Inpatient facility in Cohasset, Massachusetts. Establish policies and objectives in accordance with directives from the Senior Leadership. Revise objectives and policies in response to changes in internal and external conditions. Coordinate operations between departments and other facilities. Establishes responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives. Reviews facility operations and financial statements to evaluate the achievement of objectives. Work closely with interdepartmental to develop policies and procedures regarding the overall direction of the business.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead by example with strong decision-making skills and a positive mindset.
- Participate in Employee Engagement Surveys and develop action plans according to results
- Follow the company Oath, Mission, and Values as it pertains to the patient experience and employee experience
- Operational management of clinical and non-clinical departments including but not limited to: Nursing, Admissions, Business Development, Process Improvement, Finance, Clinical Services, and Regulatory Affairs that effectively drive patient care outcomes
- Hold team meetings with interactive 2-way communication avenues for the team
- MBWA (management by walking around)
- Quality metrics- adhere to all regulatory and state agency guidelines
- Participate in mock surveys for licensure.
- Follow sound clinical processes developed by corporate in conjunction with site leadership.
- Achieved through sound clinical processes following accreditation and regulatory agency guidelines.
- Recruit physicians and staff in targeted specialty areas, coordinate medical staff participation in new facility ventures and/or targets, and develop new areas of medical care to offer at the facility.
- Continually recruit and attract strong talent for the growing organization.
- Communicate recruiting incentives and company incentive programs to all levels of employees on site.
- Proactively source talent and post upcoming positions in the system
- Supervises the development of comprehensive outpatient care and ambulatory programs.
- Develops positive relationships with local industry, local government, potential key health care providers, and the general public.
- Ensures the timely submission of month-end financial and operational reviews, and contributes to the development of and participation in corporate-wide strategic planning efforts.
- Communicates circumstances and events of operations to supervisor and other appropriate people to keep all apprised.
- Achieves budgeted financial objectives.
- Effectively manages contract negotiations and compliance with the commercial payor community.
- Increases revenues and income before inter-company allocations, achieve the margins percentage, and implements operating cost controls in the areas of staffing, supplies, purchased services, etc.
- Focus on census-building efforts and strategic planning.

- Financial acumen: While much of this often falls to the CFO, the Executive Director must have solid financial acumen, such that they understand the key leverage points in the Income Statement and the Balance Sheet as well as the critical aspects of ensuring short-term cash flow and long-term profitability.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree required; a Master's Degree is preferred.
- Currently working as a Behavioral Executive/ Management, i.e. Executive Position at a Behavioral Health facility, substance abuse facility, or as a Director of a large acute care facility with a focus on substance abuse or mental health.
- 10 years of experience working in substance abuse or psychiatric facility preferred.
- Solid knowledge of behavioral health management practices and clinical operations.
- Advanced knowledge of State and Federal regulatory and various accreditation requirements related to behavioral health management.
- Working knowledge of operations and financial management and marketing methods.
Work Environment: Works in a professional environment including professional offices, clinics, hospitals, or outpatient facilities.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
