Responsibilities And Duties
- Perform take-offs for various structural steel components and ensure all standard and special requirements are captured.
- Review contract drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents to generate accurate estimates.
- Review vendor and sub-tier quotes for scope compliance and cost accuracy.
- Produce estimate summaries and identify buy-out items or special requirements.
- Assist in training new Estimators in Training (EITs) and provide guidance as needed.
- Strong understanding of the means and methods of steel fabrication and erection processes.
- Experience reviewing contract drawings and specifications related to structural steel.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- At least five (5) years' experience in the structural steel industry in a similar role.
- BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred but not necessary.
- Certification in construction estimating or related field is a plus.
