Our automotive / e-mobility organization centers on accelerating the equitable transition to zero-emission electric, connected, autonomous, and shared vehicles. Our growing organization is looking to add an energetic, experienced E-Mobility Program Coordinator based in Michigan to support programmatic efforts in Michigan with support provided to the larger Midwest programmatic efforts to help us change the world for the better.
Our new E-Mobility Program Coordinator will support our Midwest Program Manager with state and local programs, pilots, and policy work across the Midwestern region, which includes the following States: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Colorado and Kentucky of the U.S., with a heavy focus initially on Michigan. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in the Detroit, Michigan metropolitan area. The person in this role will wear multiple hats. The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating multiple programs, thriving in entrepreneurial environments, have strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage strong client and partner relationships. Confidentiality and discretion are key attributes and are required for this position.
EVNoire (EVN) is an award-winning consulting group whose work centers on e-mobility best practices and accelerating multimodal electrification. Our team includes engineers, data scientists, charging infrastructure specialists, policy experts, and e-mobility consultants working with the private and public sector to advance decarbonization strategies. We utilize our expertise, a human-centric approach, and data-driven frameworks to integrate and amplify e-mobility best practices in the transportation sector.
EVNoire works with industry leaders and partners ranging from auto manufacturers, transit authorities, utilities, and government agencies, to charging network companies, non-profits, community-based organizations, and rideshare and delivery network companies. EVNoire’s vision is that e-mobility best practices be centered in the transition to zero-emission vehicles.
Members of our leadership team are also the co-founders of a national 501(c)(3), the nation’s largest network of diverse EV drivers and enthusiasts, whose mission is to increase awareness of multimodal zero-emissions transportation while accelerating a just transition to its adoption.
The E-Mobility Program Coordinator, who will be based in the Detroit metro area, will facilitate work across both companies and report to the E-Mobility Program Manager. Core responsibilities include:
- Assisting with coordination of contracts, projects, and programs in the Midwest, with a strong emphasis on Michigan and neighboring states.
- Supporting the Midwest Program Manager in managing key relationships across both organizations in the region, including utilities, public agencies, OEMs, CBOs, and community leaders.
- Balancing the needs and expectations of various stakeholders, participants, sponsors, and team members to ensure high-quality execution of regional initiatives.
- Assisting with the coordination of development and implementation of multiple e-mobility programs and campaign plans in several cities across Michigan and our target states in the Midwest region.
- Representing EVHybridNoire at coalition tables, conferences, and in meetings with policymakers and partners, and advocating for EVHybridNoire’s priorities, as appropriate for a coordinator-level role.
- Creating and maintaining records, reports, presentations, and proposals for past, current, and future projects in Michigan and the surrounding Midwest target states.
- Helping to facilitate public outreach efforts, including focus groups and listening sessions with target audiences, to understand public awareness and attitudes around e-mobility and to center equity in program design.
- Drafting and submitting opinion pieces, research summaries, and action alerts to media outlets, online forums, and EVHybridNoire’s members, in collaboration with the Program Manager and communications team.
- Tracking policy, regulatory, and e-mobility market developments in multiple Midwestern states to help ensure resources are directed where they are most needed and impactful.
- Supporting monitoring of program budgets, schedules, and implementation of various projects within Michigan, and our target Midwest states.
- Drafting updates and reports on regional work for internal and external audiences.
- Supporting regional events (virtual and in-person) and helping assemble local teams/partners to execute events and complete project deliverables.
- Performing additional programmatic and coordination tasks as requested by the Midwest Program Manager or Senior Leadership Team.
- Regional Managers & Program Director, Research Staff (Internal)
- External partners including project partners, employers, community members, utilities, charging network providers, community leaders/elected officials, OEMs, and city and state leads across the Midwest.
- At least 2–3 years of related experience in transportation, mobility, community engagement, or a similar field.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, liberal arts, environmental studies, public policy, public health, urban planning, or related field; or equivalent experience with significant program coordination responsibilities.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrated ability to carry projects from inception to completion successfully.
- Knowledge of transportation electrification broadly and an understanding of how e-mobility intersects with equity, diversity, and justice.
- Strong writing skills with great attention to detail and experience writing for multiple audiences (community, technical, policy, and funders).
- Understanding of policy-making processes broadly and the ability to think strategically about how to navigate those processes.
- Experience in communications and/or grassroots public outreach, ideally including work with underserved and frontline communities.
- Creative thinker who can assist with ideation, planning, and execution of campaigns and programs.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a hybrid, remote, collaborative team, with a proven ability to juggle and complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability and willingness to travel (20–25%) to attend client meetings, conferences, trainings/presentations, and events across the state of Michigan and our target Midwest states.
- Stable, high-speed internet access.
- Program implementation and management experience, especially in transportation, clean energy, or community-focused programs.
- Experience living and/or working in the Midwest U.S., with existing relationships in electrification, transportation and climate arenas in the region viewed as a plus.
- Experience working on a collaborative program team across functions (research, policy, communications, community engagement).
- Familiarity with e-mobility best practices, clean transportation, and/or related sectors (EV charging, utilities, public transit).
- Experience working with under-resourced populations/communities; bilingual skills (especially Spanish) are a plus.
