What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Technician position at Everything Eyes Inc?
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients at the front desk
- Perform preliminary tests and measurements on patients, such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception
- Assist the optometrist with various procedures, including contact lens fittings and eye examinations
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care and maintenance
- Help patients select frames and lenses based on their prescription and personal style
- Process sales transactions and handle retail math calculations
- Utilize retail sales systems to track inventory and manage customer orders
- Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record software (Epic)
- Assist with medical coding and billing procedures
- Provide support in a variety of optometric specialties, including contact lenses
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical coding and billing processes is a plus
- Familiarity with optometric equipment and procedures is a plus
