Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Update inventory systems and maintain regular cycle counts
- Documentation: Review shipping orders, generate labels, and prepare invoices and bills of lading
- Logistics & Coordination: Coordinate with carriers and truck drivers
- Warehouse Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
- Receiving & Inspection: Unload, count, and inspect incoming shipments for damage, reporting discrepancies in quantity or quality
- Shipping & Packaging: Prepare, label, and pack outgoing items for shipment, ensuring proper documentation and addressing when necessary
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy items (50 lbs) and stand for long periods
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with barcode scanners, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Microsoft Office
- Equipment Operation: Experience with pallet jacks
- Communication: Effective written and verbal communication
- Organization: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory and shipping records
- This is typically a full-time, fast-paced warehouse or distribution center position
- Often involves working around noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- A high school diploma or GED is generally required
- Previous warehouse or shipping/receiving experience is usually preferred
