Special Education Specialist - DHH

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs. The Special Education Teacher will work collaboratively with parents, staff, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique requirements.

Responsibilities

• Identify, support, and instruct students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing, addressing their specific educational requirements.
• Collaborate in the identification, assessment, and instructional planning process for DHH students, actively participating in referrals and assessments.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of students initially and triennially, evaluating academic achievement, listening behavior, language, and communication skills to inform IEP goals.
• Work closely with the IEP team, including parents, teachers, administrators, psychologists, nurses, audiologists, and others, to ensure students receive appropriate services.
• Develop and implement instructional support tailored to meet individual student needs while integrating IEP goals and objectives.
• Provide ongoing monitoring and evaluation of student progress, reporting on IEP goal attainment, and conducting evaluations to determine eligibility.
• Coordinate and provide specialized materials and equipment to support student learning in the classroom environment.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications!

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree
• CA State SPED DHH License
