Director of Foundataions

Our Director of Foundations is responsible for developing and maintaining a strategy, budget and reporting mechanisms to engage and steward funding institutions into Every Home For Christ’s vision and mission through individualized international projects. These funding institutions would include: Institutional Foundations, Family Foundations, Donor-Advised funding entities, Public Charities and Major Donor Investors. They will also oversee the areas of annuities/trusts and donor correspondence, providing direction and planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Every Home for Christ.
• Adheres to the Biblical standards of moral conduct, Every Home For Christ vision statement, Every Home For Christ statement of faith, Every Home For Christ’s Employee standards and policies, Every Home For Christ’s Covenant of Harmony and upholds Every Home for Christ’s ministry in prayer.
• In alignment with Every Home for Christ culture and values, increase the depth of relationships/partnerships and levels of financial giving
• Responsible for the stewardship of existing funded projects
• Continue to grow and increase the foundations/grants portfolio of partners, in alignment with Every Home strategies and values
• Oversee the stewardship reporting/sharing of information to funders
• Oversee the writing of grant proposals to include application, reporting, creative design, and follow up.
• Develop prospective funder strategies to grow relationships and future funding of projects
• Develop executive summaries and project budgets that will be proposed for new projects to various foundations/major donors
• Responsible for the creation of the major donor investor project proposals, reporting mechanisms
• Adds input to the strategic planning objectives of Planned Giving
• Maintain a positive and open communication relationship with all other internal departments
• Provide support to other Partnership Engagement areas as requested

QUALIFICATIONS

• Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Active participation/attendance at a local church
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Experience: 5-10 years in foundation/grant writing and research or similar partnership development experience; at least 5 years in a leadership role
• Believes strongly in the mission and strategy of Every Home for Christ
• High level of confidentiality
• Experience with various information database systems
• Unquestionable financial stewardship and integrity
• Knowledge of Every Home history and anticipated growth
• Demonstrated humility and professional relational strength
• Proven ability to develop professional relationships that provide financial growth for the ministry
• Knowledge in foundation research and the process of writing grant proposals
• Strong servant leadership skills to facilitate effective cross department communication and project coordination
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure
• Ability to understand annuities/trusts
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, especially in regards to donor/grant communication
• Ability to collaborate well with various departments within the ministry; cultivating a positive work environment in alignment with Every Home for Christ culture and values
• Excellent organization skills with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
• Must be able to travel up to 20% (international and domestic)
