SUMMARY

This staff member is responsible for fulfilling the role of “Campus Supervisor” for the residential

treatment programs.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.

-Responsible for immediate crisis child intervention support for all facets of programming during

scheduled shift.

-Coordinates and implements intervention strategies with the child and youth care staff and on-duty

administrators.

-Arranges staff coverage during an unexpected staff shortage with the assistance of the Unit Supervisor.

-Aware at all times of schedules.

-Spends time on every unit and in group homes interacting and observing staff and children, and

introduces shift to all new children.

-Makes suggestions to child and youth care workers re: techniques to utilize for effective interactions as

the need arises.

-Maintains log entries of incidents throughout shifts.

-Communicates to the in-house supervisor and/or programs coordinator any concerns about workers

not following established procedures in an acceptable manner.

-Assists with the supervision of family visits when necessary.

-Supervises meals, and transportation as needed.

-Implements any continuous quality improvement procedures requested by the Continuous Quality

Improvement Director.

-Whenever possible, meets any reasonable need that direct care staff has during a shift to ensure

quality services to the children.

-Serves as a liaison within the police department and other community groups as the need arises.

-Completes police reports.

-Responsible for communication with on duty worker.

-Visits house to house at various periodic intervals to check in with staff at least once every 2 hours of a

shift.

-Contacts on duty administrator when further crisis intervention assistance is required.

-Prepares and/or reviews any incident reports that they are involved in during the shift.

-Meets training requirements.

Responsible for being trauma aware, sensitive and responsive to youth, families and colleagues through

the completion of new hire and annual trauma informed education/training.
 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBITIES

Is responsible for observing, directing staff as needed during the course of a shift. Must report any

concerns to the unit supervisors, program coordinators or other relevant supervisory staff and make

sure the on duty social worker is notifies. This person will also need to be trained in the policies and

procedures regarding physical restraint and the placement of a child in the locked Time Out Room, as

well as the monitoring of that child. They will need to assess that all staff are following proper

procedures.

The noise level in the work environment is usually high. While performing the duties of this job, the

employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. Person will have to be highly trained in

Physical Restraint techniques and be physically and mentally capable of assisting in physical restraints

whenever necessary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Person must have at least 4 years experience in residential treatment; at least H/S diploma; bachelor’s

degree from a four year college or university preferred.
