Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Front Office Administrator/Billing Coordinator to join our healthcare team. This vital role combines front desk management with comprehensive billing responsibilities, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate financial processing. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, while also managing medical billing, coding, and insurance claims to optimize revenue cycle operations. Duties
- Greet patients, visitors, and staff warmly, providing exceptional customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate with clinical staff to ensure timely service delivery
- Verify patient insurance information, obtain authorizations, and assist with health insurance inquiries
- Prepare and process medical claims using billing software, ensuring accuracy in coding such as DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards
- Review medical records for completeness and accuracy; update EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems accordingly
- Handle medical collections by following up on unpaid claims and communicating with insurance companies or patients to resolve billing issues
- Maintain organized records of medical documentation, billing transactions, and correspondence in compliance with healthcare regulations
Experience
- Prior experience in a dental office setting with a focus on front desk operations and billing functions preferred
- Strong knowledge of healthcare claims management, health insurance processes, and dental coding standards including DRG, CPT, ICD-9/10/ICD coding systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel for documentation and reporting purposes
- Experience using billing software and EMR/EHR systems for accurate data entry and claim submission
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance providers, and team members
- Familiarity with dental terminology, dental records management, and healthcare compliance standards
