You’ll help shape the early-stage development of a portfolio of initiatives that are critical to our long-term energy strategy. Administrative Balance: While the work is strategic, it also includes essential administrative tasks such as documentation, scheduling, and reporting—critical to keeping projects on track. The role is located in Hartford, CT or Westwood, MA. Essential Functions: Responsible for all aspects of assigned strategic transmission and substation projects from early-stage development to hand off to Project Management Organization (prior to traditional project lifecycle) Coordinate cross-functional teams including System Planning, Engineering, Siting, Real Estate, Legal, Engagement, Regulatory Affairs, and more Ensures that all strategic solutions are vetted in a manner consistent with the Company’s safety and procurement policies and programs Works with the appropriate departments to develop schedules and budget of strategic projects in early-stage development and is responsible for the implementation, prior to execution Supports development and documentation of Company Policies related to development and execution of strategic transmission projects addressing items such a feasibility, planning, siting, permitting, construction, etc. Focus on both internal and external collaboration Maintains familiarity with current and upcoming Policies and Programs that could facilitate Transmission Development Works with the Manager/Director to develop metrics by which to evaluate the success of transmission projects and collaborates with other Program Managers and Senior Program Managers within Strategic Project Development team when needed Facilitates discussions with key stakeholders to assure alignment and key information exchange to advance Strategic Transmission Projects Assists with representing Eversource Transmission on committees, groups, associations, or other efforts consistent with Strategic Projects Assists with representing Eversource Transmission at public meetings, regulatory hearings, town hall meetings and any special meetings that may occur Ensures Manager and Director of Strategic Project Development are briefed regularly on the status of job responsibilities for the development of strategic projects and status of action items Technical Knowledge/Skills Project management experience required Ability to develop and present reports within the organization Strong computer and analytical skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple subject matters Ability to take in multidisciplinary pieces of early-stage project development and make decisions in a timely manner Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences internally and externally A growth mindset and interest in continuous learning and process improvement Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, business discipline, related degree, or equivalent experience Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of related experience Experience developing competitive infrastructure projects and knowledge of electric transmission and distribution systems preferred Licenses & Certifications: Valid Driver’s license is required Working Conditions: Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required. HYBRID: Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs.
