Dermatology Medical Assistant

EverOak Dermatology & Aesthetics Center | Celina, TX

EverOak Dermatology & Aesthetics Center is a physician-owned medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology practice in Celina, Texas. We are looking for an experienced Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our growing team.

This position is primarily centered around dermatology medical assisting, but we operate as a small, collaborative practice where team members are cross-trained in both clinical and front-office responsibilities. Depending on staffing and the needs of the practice, the employee may work in the clinical MA role or provide front-desk coverage. We are looking for someone who is comfortable and capable in both areas and enjoys being part of a team where everyone helps keep the practice running smoothly.

Responsibilities

Clinical

• Room patients, obtain histories, document medications and prepare patients for examination
• Assist the dermatologist with biopsies, excisions and other medical and surgical dermatology procedures
• Prepare and handle specimens and pathology paperwork
• Assist with prescriptions, prior authorizations and patient follow-up
• Clean, sterilize and prepare instruments and procedure rooms
• Maintain clinical supplies and properly stocked exam rooms
• Accurately document and work within the electronic medical record

Front Office / Practice Support

• Check patients in and out and provide excellent customer service
• Answer phones and assist with scheduling
• Collect copays and patient payments
• Assist with insurance eligibility and benefit verification
• Communicate professionally with patients, pharmacies and other medical offices
• Help with other practice needs as part of a small, collaborative team

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of Medical Assistant experience required
• Previous dermatology experience required
• Comfortable being cross-trained and providing both clinical and front-office coverage as needed
• Familiarity with medical insurance terminology and willingness to learn insurance eligibility and benefit verification
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Dependable, punctual, organized and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working in a growing practice where teamwork and flexibility are important

Experience with ModMed/EMA, dermatologic procedures, biopsies/excisions, pathology workflows and prior authorizations is preferred. CMA/RMA certification and Spanish-speaking ability are a plus but are not required.

Schedule & Benefits

Full-time position, approximately 32–40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, generally during 8 AM–5 PM business hours. Some earlier start times may be required when assigned to opening duties.
