Overview
The Receptionist is responsible for promptly, accurately, professionally, and courteously receiving and directing all telephone calls, customers, and visitors. This position is responsible for helping to meet the needs of customers/patients/caregivers and for communicating dispensary procedures and policies in a professional and effective way, ensuring compliance with Maryland state and local laws regarding cannabis. The Receptionist will also prepare and process outgoing and incoming mail and deliveries, including signing for deliveries when necessary and notifying recipients. They will ensure that the receptionist area is kept neat, clean, and stocked with appropriate supplies and will maintain office supply inventory and seek to have orders placed, as needed.
Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Welcome all customers and facilitate a seamless check-in process
- Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls
- Facilitate the processing of phone and online orders in a timely manner
- Perform any clerical duties as needed by store staff
- Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable
- Navigate menus and ensure their continued accuracy
- Promote a work environment that is positive, customer-service oriented, and compliant with established policies and procedures
- Manage the flow of the lobby and customer queue to ensure all customers are helped in a timely manner
- Maintain positive customer relationships to establish loyal customer base
Skills

Qualifications include:
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- 21 years of age or older
- Desire to learn more about cannabis
- Availability to work 5-day work weeks that include weekdays, weekends, nights, and some holidays between the hours of 9:00am and 10:00pm, depending on the shift
- Ability to follow directions well
- Previous receptionist and/or cannabis industry experience preferred
- Ability to work well unsupervised

Working Conditions/Physical requirements:
- Work may require prolonged standing, sitting, walking back and forth, some bending, stooping and crouching
- Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds.
- Duties can regularly require employee to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions that require hand eye coordination and manual dexterity .
- Work may require a majority of the shift being outside in different temperatures and weather conditions.
