Position Summary

The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely movement of raw materials, components, work-in-process (WIP), and finished materials throughout the electric bus manufacturing facility. This position supports production by ensuring the right materials are delivered to the right location at the right time while maintaining inventory accuracy, quality standards, and a safe, organized work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely move materials, components, and production materials throughout the warehouse and manufacturing facility.
  • Deliver parts and materials to designated production stations and point-of-use locations according to production schedules.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Receive incoming materials and verify quantities, part numbers, and condition against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Inspect materials for visible damage and report shortages, damaged materials, or discrepancies.
  • Accurately scan, label, and record material movements using ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Pick and stage materials for production manufacturing requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, physical counts, and inventory transactions.
  • Organize and maintain warehouse locations, racks, bins, and storage areas.
  • Support the movement and proper handling of high-value electric bus components, including electrical and battery-related materials, in accordance with company safety procedures.
  • Follow established procedures for the safe handling, storage, and transportation of materials.
  • Perform daily pre-use inspections of forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.
  • Report equipment defects, safety hazards, near misses, damaged materials, and unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S and company housekeeping standards.
  • Remove non-conforming, rejected, or excess materials from production areas as directed.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, packaging, labeling, and staging activities.
  • Communicate material shortages and inventory discrepancies to Warehouse Team Lead, Supply Chain, and Production leadership.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and material flow.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous warehouse, manufacturing, shipping/receiving, or material-handling experience.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment.
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills.
  • Ability to use inventory tracking systems.
  • Ability to accurately read part numbers, labels, work orders, and packing slips.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality.

Preferred

  • Experience in automotive, electric vehicle, heavy equipment, or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management System.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and cycle counting.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and 5S principles.
  • Previous experience supporting production line material replenishment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with assistance or mechanical equipment for heavier items.
  • Ability to bend, reach, squat, and climb as required.
  • Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment.

Work Environment

This position works in a warehouse and electric bus manufacturing environment and may be exposed to moving equipment, production activity, varying noise levels, and changing temperatures. Employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all company safety procedures. Ability to work in a non-temp control environment.
