Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant focused on General Ledger integrity, GAAP compliance, and the month-end close process. This role ensures the accuracy of financial transactions and maintains the rigorous reporting standards required for a high-growth platform company.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:


GL & Financial Integrity:

  • Ensure all transactional activity posted in the operating and deposit accounts is recorded into the accounting software accurately and timely.
  • Maintain the General Ledger (GL) to ensure 100% accuracy in account coding across all business segments.
  • Perform regular reviews of financial data to ensure compliance with company policy and GAAP standards.
  • Collaborate with AR/AP to ensure accurate and timely process and collections

Banking:

  • Complete daily pre-reconciliation of bank accounts for the assigned business segment.
  • Report any discrepancies immediately to the accounting manager/supervisor.
  • Monitor cash flow activity to ensure all bank transactions are properly reflected in the GL.

Month End Close:

  • Drive month-end close tasks, including posting reversing and recurring entries.
  • Manage accruals templates to ensure revenue and expenses are recognized in the correct period.
  • Maintain comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations, including prepaids, fixed assets, and deferred revenue.
  • Perform variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget) to provide insights into monthly financial performance.

Audit & Compliance:

  • Provide primary support during internal and external audits by preparing schedules and gathering documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all accounting processes and controls.
  • Ensure the company is "audit-ready" at all times through rigorous record-keeping.

Other:

  • Assist in other work areas and perform all other related duties or projects, as needed and directed.



Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Personal Characteristics:

  1. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  2. Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills with ability to professionally communicate effectively with a high level of discretion
  3. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  4. Self-directed and resourceful
  5. Ability to problem solve with effective and timely follow through

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  2. At least 3-5 years of experience in corporate accounting or a similar financial management role.
  3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards (GAAP).
  4. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to build and maintain complex spreadsheets using VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and logical formulas (IF/THEN) for financial analysis.
  5. Prior experience with QuickBooks


Desired but not Required:

Experience in the oilfield services industries or critical infrastructure industries


Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly work within an office environment and is required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and talk and listen. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.


This position will work a hybrid schedule of 3 days in our Cypresswood office location.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
