Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Grinder Operator to join our manufacturing team. Duties
- Set up and operate various grinding machines, including CNC grinders, manual grinders, and other industrial equipment to achieve specified dimensions and surface finishes.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and production documents to determine machining requirements.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensions and ensure compliance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
- Troubleshoot machine issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety standards in production and utilizing proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to ensure parts meet specifications through inspection and testing.
- Assist with material handling, tooling setup, and basic fabrication tasks as needed using hand tools or shop math skills.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC machining centers, CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, or manual grinding equipment within a manufacturing or factory setting.
- Strong understanding of mechanical blueprint reading, shop math, and interpreting technical drawings for machining processes.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment troubleshooting, precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers), and GD&T principles.
- Knowledge of programming for CNC grinders using Fanuc controls or similar systems; experience with CAM programming is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as stamping presses or press brake machines is advantageous.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment while maintaining high standards of quality control.
- Prior experience with shop tools, materials handling equipment like forklifts, and assembly line processes is preferred.
