Senior Environmental Engineer – Solar & Wetlands Projects

About the Role
An employee-owned environmental consulting firm is seeking an experienced Environmental Professional to support a growing portfolio of solar energy and wetlands development projects. This role offers significant flexibility, a mix of field and office work, and the opportunity to contribute to projects from early discovery through permitting and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct wetland and stream delineations for solar development projects
- Perform desktop environmental reviews and visual assessments
- Support projects from early discovery through regulatory compliance
- Participate in client meetings and project calls as required
- Balance fieldwork and office work based on project needs
- Ensure adherence to state and federal environmental regulations
- Assist with business development activities (helpful but not required)
Required Experience
- Background in environmental consulting
- Hands-on experience with wetlands delineation
- Experience supporting solar or renewable energy projects preferred
Required Skills & Certifications
- Professional Wetlands Delineator (PWD) certification — strongly preferred
- Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification — preferred but not mandatory
- Candidates actively pursuing PWS certification are encouraged to apply
- Willingness to obtain certifications if not already held
- Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with clients
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and field demands
