What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Cook position at Evergreen Village of Fort Wayne?
Responsibilities:
- Assists the Culinary Services Director with monthly staffing scheduling of employees
- Attends required meetings as requested by the Executive Director and the Culinary Services Director
- Assists the Culinary Services Director with ordering groceries, perishables, dairy products, paper goods, chemicals, and cleaning supplies from approved vendors
- Continuously reviews new methods, products, procedures, and services to upgrade standards of service with approval
- Prepares a diverse menu that incorporates a variety of dietary preferences and accommodates for various restrictions
- Demonstrates dedication to high-quality dietary services while ensuring compliance to safety and sanitation protocols
- Maintains food service areas including the kitchen and dining areas
- Engages with residents in a compassionate and impactful manner, cultivating a warm and supportive environment where the values of love, compassion, and dignity are reflected in every interaction
- Participates in continuous learning and development opportunities through attendance and participation in educational seminars, staff meetings, and other learning experiences
Qualifications:
- Must hold current ServSafe Manager certification
- High School graduate or GED equivalent required
- Experience and knowledge of food service management in a health care facility is preferable
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Must demonstrate the ability to serve with love, compassion, and dignity
