Role Description The Construction Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Indianapolis, IN, responsible for overseeing residential construction and renovation projects from planning through completion. This role manages day-to-day project activities, including scheduling, coordinating contractors and vendors, monitoring site progress, and ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, safety protocols, and timelines. The Construction Project Manager prepares and tracks budgets, reviews bids, approves invoices, and proactively manages changes to control costs. The role collaborates closely with internal stakeholders, such as asset management and operations teams, to align project execution with portfolio and investment goals. The Construction Project Manager also provides regular reporting on project status, risks, and milestones, and contributes to continuous improvement of construction processes and workflows.
Qualifications
- Strong project leadership skills, including Project Management and Construction Project Management experience in residential or similar construction environments.
- Proficiency in Project Coordination, including scheduling, resource allocation, documentation, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in Construction Management, including oversight of contractors, adherence to building codes, safety standards, and quality control on active job sites.
- Demonstrated Budgeting capabilities, including cost estimation, financial tracking, and managing change orders to keep projects within approved budgets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present project updates and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency with construction management software, project management tools, and basic office productivity applications.
- Ability to work on-site daily in Indianapolis, IN, visit multiple project locations, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with residential real estate, single-family rental, or build-to-rent projects is preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM, OSHA safety training) are a plus.
