Job Summary
The Culinary Operations Manager oversees deli and prepared foods, manages staff, and ensures excellent customer service. While previous professional cooking experience is required, this role is primarily focused on managing people, operations, and customer experience. You’ll also step into the kitchen when needed to support the culinary team.
Responsibilities
- Manage deli staff and cashiers to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve shopper questions
- Oversee stocking, rotation, and freshness of prepared foods and deli cases
- Organize staff prep lists, schedules, and product orders
- Support store events, holiday promotions, case sets, and product sampling
- Step in to cook, prep, or assist in the kitchen as needed
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling standards
Requirements
- Previous professional cooking or chef experience (restaurant, catering, deli)
- Leadership and team management skills preferred
- Strong communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible schedule (must be available evenings, weekends, and holidays)
- Positive, hands-on leader willing to “wear many hats”
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $28 per hour, depending on experience
- Full-time schedule with consistent hours

- Work directly with Executive Chef Mark Pridgen
- Business closes at 6pm - no evening work required.
