Job Description Evergreen Innovation Group, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator with at least 8 years of experience in Commercial and Renewable construction estimating. This role is a strategic step above the Estimator position, requiring leadership in estimating efforts, mentorship of junior estimators, developing and fostering relationships with general contractor preconstruction teams, and the ability to oversee complex, high-value projects. The Senior Electrical Estimator will work closely with architects, engineers, owners, and trade partners, driving preconstruction success within our core markets: Healthcare, Higher Education, Advanced Technology, Life Sciences, and Commercial. Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following: Supervisory Responsibilities Mentors and supports junior estimators, providing guidance on estimating best practices and methodologies. May lead a small team of estimators on large-scale projects. Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrates a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and vision of EIG Electrical Systems. Leads the estimating process from conceptual budgeting to final bid submission, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing. Provides expert analysis and strategic insights on project costs, proactively identifying risks and opportunities. Develops and implements cost-saving strategies, value engineering solutions, and alternative materials or methodologies. Works closely with operations and preconstruction teams to align estimating with project execution goals. Establishes and maintains relationships with key trade partners, vendors, and suppliers to ensure accurate pricing and resource availability. Oversees the preparation of detailed conceptual estimates, cost studies, and variance analyses as designs progress. Reviews and validates detailed bid packages, subcontractor proposals, and scopes of work. Leads bid strategy development, bid leveling, and final recommendations to stakeholders. Facilitates and leads pre-bid meetings, scope review discussions, and presentations to clients and executive teams. Follow EIG best practices of preparing for, and leading, project handoff meetings from estimating to construction. Engages in business development efforts, assisting in proposals, presentations, and client negotiations. Stays updated on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging technologies affecting electrical estimating. Actively engage with EIG national team to continue to develop processes and procedures, including renewable energy estimating. Required Skills and Abilities Proven ability to manage complex estimates and provide strategic cost insights. Strong leadership and mentorship skills, fostering a collaborative team environment. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to negotiate subcontractor and supplier agreements effectively. Expertise in estimating software (Accubid), take-off tools (Accubid Livecount or similar). Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive innovative estimating solutions. Ability to be involved and focused on multiple projects at the same time. Working familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools, Bluebeam, Plangrid (Autodesk Construction Cloud), and other plan-hosting software solutions. Education and Experience 8 years of estimating experience in Commercial and Photovoltaic Construction estimating. Experience in Design/Build and Design/Assist projects is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is a plus but not required. Previous field experience is a plus. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods working on a computer in an office setting. Occasional travel required to project sites and preconstruction meetings. Ability to meet with clients and perform site investigations on potential projects, including projects that are only accessible by ladders and/or stairwells.
