Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented LPN or RN to join our team on the night shift as a full-time staff member. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive patient care in a dynamic healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, experience with diverse patient populations, and a passion for delivering exceptional nursing services during overnight hours.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following established protocols and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety.
- Monitor patients’ conditions closely, managing acute pain, airway management, ventilator support, and infection control measures as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to residents’ needs, including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory support.
- Provide emergency response and triage for urgent health concerns, utilizing critical care experience and Level I or Level II trauma center knowledge when applicable.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Assist with discharge planning, specimen collection/processing, catheterization, suturing, and other specialized procedures such as spinal taps or gastrostomy tube management.
- Educate residents and their families on health coaching topics related to geriatrics, hospice care, or chronic disease management.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as an LPN or RN with current state licensure in good standing.
- Proven experience in acute care settings such as hospital medicine, ICU, emergency room, or medical-surgical units; experience in long-term care facilities is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding practices and medical terminology relevant to nursing documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to perform venipuncture, phlebotomy, sterile processing techniques, and medication administration accurately.
- Strong physiology knowledge along with skills in patient assessment and vital signs monitoring.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is advantageous.
- Ability to handle complex cases involving infectious disease care, pain management, or post-acute care scenarios confidently.
