Evergreen Explorers Preschool – Now Hiring Two Part-Time Preschool Teachers!

Pay: $20/hour
Evergreen Explorers Preschool is a licensed, in-home early learning program that focuses on whole-child development, hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, and a warm, home-like atmosphere. We’re looking for two caring, dependable, and engaging teachers to join our small but growing community!
✨ Positions Available
Morning Teacher: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Afternoon Teacher: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
✨ Required Qualifications (Per Washington State DCYF Standards for Staff Working Alone With Children)
To ensure the safety, quality, and compliance of our program, all applicants must meet the following DCYF requirements before their start date:
Minimum Experience & Education
- At least 1 year of experience working in a licensed child care facility
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Must be 18 years or older
Required Trainings & Certifications
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (infant, child, adult)
- Bloodborne Pathogens training
- Food Handler’s Permit (within 14 days of hire)
- Completed or willing to complete:
- MERIT background check & fingerprinting (must be cleared before working with children)
- STARS 30-hour Initial Training (or proof of previous completion). Hours and reimbursement will be provided for this training.
- Safe Sleep training
- Mandated Reporter training
- Emergency Preparedness training
- Understanding and compliance with WAC 110-300 early learning regulations
Required Skills
- Ability to supervise children alone while maintaining licensing ratios
- Strong communication skills with children, families, and coworkers
- Ability to guide children with positive behavior supports
- Willingness to follow preschool routines, policies, and lesson plans
- Physical ability to lift 30 lbs, bend, kneel, stand, and move around actively
✨ Job Responsibilities
- Create a warm, safe, and nurturing environment for children ages 2–5
- Facilitate developmentally appropriate activities (curriculum provided)
- Assist with simple meal prep, serving meals, and following CACFP standards
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitization according to WAC and DCYF guidelines
- Support children with toileting, washing hands, and daily routines
- Communicate with families in a positive, professional manner
- Maintain required documentation (attendance, incident reports, etc.)
- Ensure children are always within sight and sound supervision
- Participate in outdoor play and nature-based learning daily
