What are the responsibilities and job description for the EMDR Trained Clinician position at Evergreen Counseling?
Founded by a trauma therapist and EMDR-certified clinician, Evergreen Counseling provides deeply trauma-informed, relational care in a warm, human-centered environment.
We are a group practice that values exceptional clinical care, authenticity, collaboration, and sustainable work. Our clinicians are supported through responsive leadership, ongoing consultation, advanced training opportunities, and a practice culture designed to help therapists do meaningful work without feeling isolated or overwhelmed.
At Evergreen, we care deeply about both our clients and our team. We strive to create an environment that feels grounded, supportive, and genuinely human.
We are currently seeking an EMDR-trained therapist to join our team in downtown Berkeley.
This role will primarily focus on providing EMDR and talk therapy to moderate to high-functioning adolescents, adults, couples, and families presenting with a broad range of concerns, including developmental and relational trauma.
We strongly prefer an in-person clinical presence, though we may consider limited hybrid flexibility for the right long-term fit.
- Provide high-quality EMDR and talk therapy services
- Maintain a caseload of approximately 25 client sessions per week
- Complete clinical documentation, including treatment plans, SOAP notes, and discharge summaries
- Participate in consultation and collaborative support opportunities
- Conduct consult calls with prospective clients as needed
- Collaborate with referral sources and outside providers when appropriate
- Contribute to a warm, inclusive, and clinically rigorous practice culture
You are:
- A fully licensed LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Clinical Psychologist (PhD/PsyD) in California
- EMDR-trained through an EMDRIA-accredited program
- Experienced in actively practicing EMDR
- Warm, grounded, emotionally attuned, and relational in your clinical approach
- Interested in long-term community, collaboration, and deepening your clinical work
We are ideally seeking clinicians with 2–5 years of post-graduate clinical experience.
Experience working with developmental trauma, dissociation, first responders, and/or military populations is highly valued.
For full-time clinicians maintaining a typical caseload of approximately 25 client sessions per week, projected total compensation and benefits value generally ranges from approximately $100,000–$150,000 annually, depending on caseload, experience, and schedule preferences.
Benefits include:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with 4% match
- Paid sick time
- Long-term disability insurance
- Life insurance
- Continuing education stipend
- One month of unpaid time off annually
- A meaningful caseload of engaged and motivated clients
- Ongoing leadership support and consultation
