Evergreen Commons Rehabilitation and Nursing is looking for an Employee Health & In-Service RN to join our team. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading educational in-services for staff while maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee health records.
The Employee Health & In-Service RN plays an important role in ensuring staff are properly trained, competent, and prepared to provide high-quality care to our residents. This individual will oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of staff orientation, education, and competencies.
Essential FunctionsEnsures the highest degree of quality resident care through effective staff education and training.
Maintains a safe and effective resident care environment.
Plans, organizes, and leads staff in-services, orientation, and competency programs.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date employee health records and documentation.
Assists with ensuring the facility remains compliant with all applicable regulatory requirements.
Completes facility rounds to monitor compliance with policies, procedures, employee health requirements, and education standards.
Assists with developing and maintaining educational materials and programs to achieve desired outcomes.
Assists with maintaining customer service standards throughout the facility.
Treats all residents, visitors, and staff with courtesy, dignity, and respect.
Attends weekly and other department meetings as needed.
Works collaboratively with nursing leadership and other departments to identify educational and competency needs.
Flexes hours as needed to provide education and training to employees across all three shifts.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum of 2 years of long-term care experience preferred.
Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license preferred.
Experience with staff education, orientation, competencies, and/or employee health preferred.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compassionate and committed to providing quality care to the geriatric population.
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and long-term care standards preferred.
