Overview
Evergreen Cabins is seeking a dedicated, reliable, and detail-oriented Property & Hospitality Caretaker to help maintain our boutique cabin property and deliver an exceptional guest experience. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems independently, and taking pride in keeping a unique hospitality property safe, beautiful, and running smoothly.
As the Evergreen Property & Hospitality Caretaker, you will oversee the day-to-day upkeep of the grounds, maintain essential cabin functions, and ensure the property is free from hazards. You'll play a crucial role in creating the warm, welcoming atmosphere our guests love by managing everything from snow removal and lawn care to stocking essential items and handling small repairs.
This position requires someone proactive, trustworthy, and comfortable handling a wide range of tasks—from groundskeeping to basic troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
Property Maintenance & Safety
- Perform routine property and grounds inspections to ensure a safe, hazard-free environment.
- Manage snowblowing, shoveling, lawn care, and seasonal maintenance tasks.
- Monitor and maintain the driveway, walkways, and parking areas.
- Clean and maintain fire-pits, including ash removal, repaint, and guest-ready setup.
- Clear debris from ponds, pathways, and outdoor spaces.
- Change propane tanks on grills as needed and ensure heaters and other utilities are functioning properly.
- Replace light bulbs, batteries as needed and perform minor electrical tasks within comfort and skill range.
Hospitality Support
- Stock and refill guest essentials kits, firewood kits, and Cabin Market items.
- Maintain neat and inviting cabin exteriors, including seasonal décor (Decorate for seasons)
- Support guest comfort by checking for and addressing issues promptly (e.g.,24/7 emergency calls - no heat, no water, no electricity - very rare instances ).
General Upkeep & Operations
- Assist with minor repairs and general property troubleshooting.
- Identify and report larger maintenance needs or safety concerns immediately.
- Monitor propane levels, heating systems, and emergency equipment.
- Provide occasional support to cleaners and other team members by preparing spaces or coordinating tasks.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas in an organized manner.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in property care, groundskeeping, basic maintenance, or hospitality is a plus.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs and perform physical tasks (shoveling, lifting, bending).
- Basic knowledge of tools, minor repairs, and small equipment maintenance.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in creating a beautiful environment.
- Valid driver's license required.
