We are seeking a reliable, organized, and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our busy Family Medicine practice. The ideal candidate will be a skilled multitasker with strong clinical knowledge, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage a variety of front- and back-office responsibilities. You will be a key part of our care team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and high-quality patient care for individuals of all ages. **THIS POSITION INCLUDES CLERICAL AND CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES.**
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Establish a relationship with providers that simplifies the need of the provider. For example; testing, vaccination, order health maintenance, following guidance and protocol.
- Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during patient exams and minor procedures
- Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
- Administer injections, immunizations, and perform basic lab tests (e.g., rapid strep, urinalysis)
- Conduct EKGs and assist with other diagnostic procedures as needed
- Maintain clean and well-stocked exam rooms and ensure infection control standards are met
Administrative & Coordination Duties:
- Answer and triage clinical phone calls and patient messages accurately and professionally
- Process medication refills and assist with medication and procedure prior authorizations
- Coordinate follow-up care, referrals, and test results with patients and outside facilities
- Accurately update patient information in the EMR system (e.g., medical history, medications, allergies)
- Assist with appointment scheduling and patient check-in/check-out as needed
- Time management

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
- 1 year of experience in a primary care or family medicine setting preferred
- Strong multitasking and time management skills – must be comfortable handling multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional phone etiquette
- Strong prior authorization processes for medications and procedures
- Proficient with Electronic Medical Records (EMR); experience with Epic a plus
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Fast-paced outpatient family medicine clinic
- Frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs)
- Exposure to bodily fluids, exam room cleaning agents, and standard clinical materials
