Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong custodial skills, with experience in commercial, industrial, or residential cleaning environments. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all areas are hygienic, well-maintained, and presentable, supporting a safe and welcoming environment for staff, clients, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet maintenance to ensure a pristine appearance.
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, offices, and common areas by sanitizing surfaces and disposing of waste properly.
- Conduct routine custodial tasks such as dusting, window cleaning, and trash removal across multiple facility zones.
- Operate cleaning equipment including floor buffers, vacuums, and industrial cleaning tools with proper safety procedures.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or fixtures to support facilities upkeep.
- Follow established health and safety standards to prevent hazards and ensure compliance with sanitation regulations.
- Support additional duties such as residential painting or light repairs when necessary to contribute to overall facility maintenance.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, and sealing floors.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Experience in facilities maintenance or porter roles that involve general upkeep responsibilities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards.
