What are the responsibilities and job description for the Online Course Coordinator position at Everglades University?
The Online Course Coordinator is responsible for coordinating faculty sourcing, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and observation while fostering an environment that embraces learning, positive spirit, high-performance, integrity, and diversity.
Responsibilities
- Maintain faculty files and other records (e.g. spreadsheets, databases) in support of the onboarding and credentialing process, promotion process, annual reporting, and accreditation reviews under the Dean’s supervision.
- Conduct detailed transcript evaluations to assist in determining course assignments; provide course assignment recommendations to the Dean.
- Complete Faculty Course Credentialing (FCC) forms for each faculty member.
- Collaborate with University faculty and staff and all areas academics.
- Conduct Monthly Course Readiness Observations.
- Conduct Weekly Course Observations and Gradebook Observations.
- Assist the Dean with official semester observations.
- Manage monthly newsletter and outreach for all faculty.
- Assist in monitoring faculty course management.
- Deployment of courses done monthly under the Dean’s supervision.
- Assist in interviewing, scheduling, and training new faculty under the Dean’s supervision.
- Assist the Dean with potential new hires in interviews, trainings, and the onboarding process.
- Review semesterly course schedules.
EDUCATION TRAINING:
Master’s degree in Higher Education, or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years working with the Blackboard learning platform as faculty, or in some other relevant capacity.
- Higher education online teaching experience (a plus).
- Online learning management system experience preferred.
TRAINING:
Tutor.com and Kaltura training preferred.
