We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our dental practice. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a welcoming environment at the front desk.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
- Collect payments, process billing, and manage medical collections in accordance with HIPAA and healthcare compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and ensure proper documentation review.
- Answer multi-line phone systems with courteous phone etiquette and handle patient inquiries promptly.
- Assist with administrative support tasks including filing, data entry, and managing electronic health records (EHR) management.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and support clinic operations effectively.
- Ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and health information management protocols.
Requirements
- Prior experience in dental office settings or medical administrative support is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and insurance verification processes.
- Strong computer skills with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms like Meditech or Epic.
- Knowledge of health insurance policies including Medicare and Medicaid billing procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Demonstrated clerical experience including filing, typing (10 key typing), and office management tasks.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management.
