Investigating History Word-to-Word Glossary Creation Committee
Description: Investigating History Word-to-Word Glossary Creation Committee will work to create word-to-word glossaries by unit for the Investigating History curriculum for grades 6 and 7. The glossaries will be used to support EL students in Social Studies classrooms. Members will use the Investigating History curriculum materials to create the glossaries. Members will report to K-8 Social Studies Director, Marena MacLaughlin and EL Director, Genevieve McDonough.
Working Time: We will meet at mutually agreed days/times for up to 20 hours
Qualifications:
- Expertise in ESL strategies and instruction
- Experience creating ESL materials
- Current Staff Member in the Everett Public Schools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Rich and varied experience with literacy curriculum and instruction
- Strong growth mindset and collaborative skills
- Student centered approach to instruction with high expectations for student achievement
Essential Duties:
- Create word-to-word glossaries by unit for the Investigating History curriculum for grades 6 and 7.
- Use the Investigating History curriculum materials to create the glossaries.
- Format the final document to be easily used by students and printed for regular use.
Compensation: Up to $800 (20 hours at $40 per hour)
