Description

Everett Public Schools is seeking a Counselor/ELL Support provider for its CTI Culinary Arts adult-training program. This individual will provide translation and language-access support during participant onboarding and employment-transition support as participants approach program completion. The position will primarily require on-site availability during the first week and final one to two weeks of the cohort, with additional support provided as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, education, social work, human services, workforce development, or a related field preferred.
• Experience supporting English learners, multilingual adults, adult learners, or workforce-development participants.
• Ability to provide translation and language-access support for the populations served by the program.
• Experience providing employment-readiness, career-counseling, job-placement, or related participant-support services preferred.
• Knowledge of community resources, workforce-development services, and employment-support systems.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to manage confidential participant information appropriately.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with participants, instructors, program staff, workforce partners, and employers.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site counseling, translation, and language-access support during the first week and final one to two weeks of each cohort.
• Assist multilingual learners in understanding program expectations, schedules, forms, instructional materials, and available resources.
• Support communication among participants, instructors, program staff, workforce partners, and employers.
• Help identify and address language-related barriers that may affect participant engagement, attendance, progress, or program completion.
• Connect participants with appropriate educational, employment, and community-based resources.
• Assist participants with resumes, job applications, interview preparation, and employment-readiness activities.
• Support participants in identifying and pursuing employment opportunities upon program completion.
• Coordinate with the Program Manager and workforce-development partners regarding participant referrals, interviews, job-placement opportunities, and employment outcomes.
• Assist with follow-up communication to document participant employment and other post-program outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of participant services and referrals.
• Participate in required program meetings, planning activities, and grant-related documentation.
• Complete other program-related responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager or Director of Career and Technical Education.

Compensation

The Counselor/ELL Support provider will be compensated at a rate of $40.00 per hour for up to 74 hours, with maximum total compensation of $2,960 over the cohort period. This is a grant-funded position (Career Technical Initiative; Commonwealth Corporation), and hours are contingent upon program enrollment, scheduling, continued grant funding, and successful completion of assigned responsibilities.
