Role Description The Head Baseball Coach is a full-time, on-site role based at Everett High School in Everett, WA. This role is responsible for leading the baseball program, including planning and conducting practices, developing game strategies, and providing instruction on fundamental and advanced baseball skills. The coach will oversee player development, mentor student-athletes on sportsmanship and academic responsibility, and manage team selection, lineups, and in-game decisions. Daily tasks include coordinating with athletic department staff, maintaining equipment and practice areas, organizing schedules, and ensuring compliance with school, district, and league regulations. The Head Baseball Coach is expected to build a positive team culture, engage families and the community, and promote the long-term growth and success of the program.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Coaching Baseball and a strong knowledge of Baseball fundamentals and rules.
- Experience in general Coaching and Training, including planning practices and developing athletes’ skills and conditioning.
- Effective Communication skills for working with students, families, school staff, and community members.
- Prior experience coaching at the high school, club, or collegiate level is preferred.
- Understanding of student-athlete development, including academic support, character building, and leadership mentoring.
- Ability to model and promote sportsmanship, inclusivity, and safety in all team activities.
- Knowledge of league regulations, eligibility requirements, and risk management in school athletics.
- Relevant coaching certifications and/or teaching credentials, or willingness to obtain them as required by the district.
