Overview


The Head Women's Soccer Coach is responsible for leading Everett Community College's intercollegiate women's soccer program. This position recruits and develops student-athletes who demonstrate academic achievement, competitive excellence, and personal integrity. The Head Women's Soccer Coach promotes a strong team culture, maintains high standards of conduct, and supports the College in providing student-athletes with a quality educational and athletic experience.

SALARY: $10,572.58 annual stipend

DEPARTMENT: Athletics

Duties & Responsibilities


Coaching
  • Lead the assigned intercollegiate athletics program, including training, practice, skill development, competition strategy, and in-game coaching.
  • Uphold team standards that promote discipline, accountability, and competitive success.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to support player development and team performance.
  • Recruit and retain student-athletes who meet program expectations for academic readiness, athletic potential, and personal conduct.
  • Oversee the work of assistant coaches and staff to ensure alignment with program goals and College expectations.
  • Set and communicate clear expectations related to preparation, participation, and sportsmanship.

Student Support
  • Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and refer them to relevant campus resources such as advising, tutoring, and financial aid.
  • Encourage strong study habits, time management, and personal accountability.
  • Promote life skill development and goal setting to support success beyond athletics.
  • Uphold the EvCC Coaches Code of Conduct and address behavioral or academic concerns promptly and professionally.

Program Operations
  • Coordinate team logistics including practice schedules, travel arrangements, equipment inventory, and facility needs.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC), College, and department rules and policies.
  • Contribute to annual budget planning and operate within approved financial parameters.
  • Lead fundraising, community service, and outreach efforts to build program visibility and engagement.
  • Participate in athletic department, conference, and sport-specific meetings.
  • Maintain regular communication with Athletics staff and campus stakeholders.

General Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations and meet the needs of the campus.

Qualifications


Required Education and Experience:
  • Two years of experience coaching competitive athletics at the high school, club, or collegiate level, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License held for at least one year.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required within 30 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of rules, policies, and procedures of the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) or similar intercollegiate governing body.
  • Understanding of coaching principles, player development, and team operations.
  • Ability to recruit, mentor, and support student-athletes with diverse skill levels and backgrounds.
  • Strong communication skills in both individual and group settings.
  • Ability to plan and manage schedules, travel, and program logistics.
  • Proficiency with technology used for communication, compliance tracking, and scheduling.

Preferred
  • Experience coaching at the community college level.
  • Experience teaching or mentoring in an educational or athletic setting.
  • Education and/or certifications related to coaching, training, or student-athlete development.
